“No debemos creer ciegamente lo que nos diga la inteligencia artificial”
Barcelona ha protagonizado el lanzamiento del proyecto AI4EU (Inteligencia Artificial para la Unión Europea). ¿Cómo poner a disposición de la investigación científica y la innovación la inteligencia artificial?
La inteligencia artificial (IA) se ha desarrollado mucho en los últimos años, a pesar de ser ya un concepto con cierta veteranía. China, Rusia o Estados Unidos están invirtiendo grandes cantidades de dinero en su investigación y ahora la Unión Europea no quiere quedarse atrás. Por eso han puesto en marcha un nuevo proyecto: Inteligencia Artificial para la Unión Europea, AI4EU.
Barcelona ha sido la ciudad escogida para dar el pistoletazo de salida de este ambicioso programa. Durante tres días 79 entidades de la Unión Europa, de 21 países diferentes y entre las cuales había 60 centros de investigación punteros, han debatido sobre las medidas necesarias para poner a disposición de los usuarios los recursos basados en esta tecnología que faciliten la investigación científica y la innovación, analizar las necesidades de investigación futura en este campo y desarrollar un observatorio de ética.
“Quien domine este campo será quien domine también el mercado del futuro. Actualmente la Inteligencia Artificial es fundamental en el desarrollo de cualquier industria. Por eso es importante invertir en este campo e iniciativas como esta son de gran trascendencia” explica a Diario Médico Alfonso Valencia, director del departamento de Ciencias de la Vida en el Centro de Supercomputación de Barcelona uno de los organizadores de la cita junto con la Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña-BarcelonaTech. “Sin embargo España necesita todavía un Plan Nacional de IA que nos permita ser competitivos. Hay que acelerar en este sentido”.
